The end of an era

This pretty much sums it up. My son has finally given up his nap...one month before his 5th birthday. I realize that I am lucky. Some kids decide to ditch the daytime sleep way earlier than he did, but I will still mourn the loss of my 2 hours of solitude on weekends. I guess I could just give in and let him watch TV the entire time his sister sleeps, but then I'd feel bad. Now I need to figure out my new strategy for getting things done on the weekend without feeling like I am ignoring him.

  1. Oh you're a nicer mom then I am! Josie quit napping a few months ago, but I still make her sit in her room for an hour and a half. She plays the whole time but I get my alone time!

  2. Yep, we do the TV thing on the days Aidan doesn't nap. I feel bad, but it works for now!

  3. K is already protesting hers! It will be hard when she gives up napping. And yes, you are lucky! All of mine have been done with regular naps by age 3 or a little after.

He can still have quiet time with books, etc. in his room... ;)

  4. Tommy does activity books or plays on the computer if I really need to get stuff done. We have a stack of "k" and "1st" grade books that he will sit and work on for hours. Other times we take advantage of the fact that he is awake without younger siblings and play a game or do something just the two of us. Its more fun than doing laundry anyway!!

  5. Pinterest has a ton of great ideas, which you've probably already seen. My 3 yr old does quiet time in his room...I'm always in search of ideas for him.

  8. No nap, but can you continue an enforced quiet time?! Audrey naps only sometimes (and less so now that the binks are gone), but we still have a 2 hour quiet time in her room. Sometimes I let her watch a show for it, but usually she just reads/plays. I feel you - Mama needs that time!

  9. I about peed my pants the other day when you posted this on fb! This is so us right right now! Olivia informed me "I's dones with naps mama." I'm mean and still make her sit in her room and read books. If that doesn't work, we use the movie route too.

  11. Yes, this does is exchange your obligations from many spots into one place, yet done accurately it can spare you cash. Most Mastercard obligation will have higher financing costs than a bank advance and this is particularly valid in the event that you claim a home or other property which you can use as value for your credit. auto title loans chicago

  12. Tragically, the retreat that made such a variety of property holders default on their home loans has likewise hit the business division hard. All things considered, individuals who are losing their homes aren't purchasing anything they don't need to, either. Specialists are evaluating that the default rate may reach as high as 4.2% before the finish of 2009. auto title loans
