Are you one of those super organized people? You know, the ones that are packed for vacations a week in advance. The kind of person that has their clothes, socks and underwear sorted by color? Someone who's house is spotless at all times? If you are, I loathe you so go away now...
We are leaving to go on our trip tonight. Well, technically our flight leaves tomorrow morning, but we are heading to Boston to stay with my BIL so we don't have to wake up at an even ungodlier (is that even a word??) time in the morning. I had such grand plans of having us completely packed by last night. I had a list all ready. Then I had a realization. The temperature where we live is hovering in the 40's-50's right now. Where we are going is in the upper 70's-80's and all of Natey's clothes that fit him are long sleeves. CRAP. Luckily I hit the sale racks at the end of the summer last year and got him some clothes, however, they are all 2T. More CRAP. My poor kid is going to be swimming in all of his clothes. I'm going to have to tie his shorts up with some string or something. Can you say, howdy Huck Finn? I put them all out to be packed anyway. i mean, what choice do I have? I'm not buying clothes that will fit him for 2 months. Let's hope they sorta fit him at least.
Oh and did I mention that I'm NOT PACKED YET??? CRAP again. I have all of Natey's clothes laid out and most of mine, but daddy decided to not pick up the dry cleaning yesterday and set his clothes out for me, so we have nothing in the suitcases yet. I couldn't really yell at him because I sorta forgot to wish him Happy Birthday before I left the house yesterday (yes, I suck). I couldn't call out of work because I had like 5 things to finish today. Let's just hope I can get out of here early and finish everything in time to head out.
I hate being a procrastinator, but I guess I'll work on changing that later. ;o) Wish me luck!!

Oh my dear...we are two of the same!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how you stress out and do all this panicking right before vacation, then try to relax for a few days, then panic on the way home..then more stress when you get back to work and try to catch up! Why bother?
Anyways, adopt my motto- we can buy it when we get there!
Procrastination is the best form of motivation! You'll get it all packed, don't worry! Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I like the previous comment! I'm such a procrastinator too! But it always gets done in the end :) The result will be a wonderful vacation! Enjoy it and kids don't need anything to wear but swimming trunks and maybe a t-shirt! He's so cute, it won't matter! Besides, I always overpack, and realize it was all unnecessary, anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhy yes, I am one of those super organized people. Can't you notice that when you read my blog? I am perfect. People like you just make me sick! Why can't you have it together.... geeze!Seriously. Baahhhaaaahhhaaahhaa! WTH ever!
ReplyDeleteI am organized, but very much a procrastinator. i love to push it to the very end to see if I can beat the clock. good luck with all the packing...you will be able to do it. After all, you are a Mom. That is what we do best. Have a nice trip too.
ReplyDeleteI HATE packing for a trip. It never fails that before a vacation, I am super cranky and end up with a stress-related headache. I over-engineer the whole packing thing. You will do fine, and I think you will be surprised that his 2T clothes really aren't all that big! And still take along a few of his long sleeved shirts, as I'm sure it will get a little cooler in the evenings.
ReplyDeleteI love packing (odd I know) but I can't stand un-packing, washing all the clothes and crap. BLAH! Anywho - I hope you have a wonderful safe trip. Oh, don't worry about Brody's shirt - you can get it to me when you have time. You know me, I don't mind a bit. :o) Have fun sweetie!!
ReplyDeleteOh you and me both. I have this (not-loved) tradition that I have to wear something wet on the flight because I didn't get what I wanted to wear washed and dryed in time. That's something I'd love to change, but I'm sure it won't!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun and don't worry about Natey's clothes. And if it's breezy, long-sleeves are good anyway!
Hope you guys have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteHey I'm with you...I am so disorganized although I do like it when things are organized! Anyhoo ~ have fun on your trip!
ReplyDeleteI hope you buy the pants with the adjustable waistbands! Those always helped me keep my son's pants on when he was between sizes like that. Have fun on your trip!!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way, remember how nice it was when you only had to pack for one? Have fun on your trip!
ReplyDeleteWhew, glad that I could stay and read! ")
ReplyDeleteI excell at disorganization and procratination!!!
Looking forward to hearing all about the trip!
Welcome to being a Mom...I was always ahead of the game before the kids came!!! =) And yes, I am well aware of the tieing up of shorts and pants....boys have NO WAIST! Thank goodness for adjustable waist. To think they were not even around for my 1st born! You will get it all done and you can do it!!! PS...remember what is motivating you...80 degree weather and I am guessing a cocktail along the way!!!! Have fun!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun!! I know you got all packed and are off having fun, enjoy@
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Kameron!! I'm not organized either--nope, not at all : )
ReplyDeleteHave the best time ever, Kameron. I have been thinking about you all week, trying to find a moment to click my way over to your blog to say "happy travels."
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear all the details upon your return!
-Francesca
PS: OF COURSE, we wrote the SF post for you. Who else do we know who is coming out our way? :)
Oh yeah, packing. I hate it. We're going on vacation this summer. Maybe I'll start packing now.
ReplyDeleteNo, I am not one of those people who are packed a week in advance and the house isn't always spotless. I go back and forth really wondering who I am. Hope you got packed by now and are out and about enjoying your time :)
ReplyDeleteI was that organized person, and then I had kids.
