No Pain. No Gain.

That's the old adage for exercise right? But how much pain should you really be in after taking a group fitness class? Lemme tell you just how much pain I am in after subjecting my poor, unsuspecting, still-way-too-out-of-shape-to-be-taking-a-boot camp-class body to 50 minutes of torture...

My legs hurt.
My butt hurts.
Geeze, even my hair hurts.
It hurts to sit.
It hurts to stand.
It hurts to walk.
It hurts to go up and down stairs.
It just plain hurts!

Why is it that I think I can just jump back into the classes that were hard for me when I was in shape when I am just getting back into the swing of things?? I guess I must be a glutton (pardon the unintentional pun) for punishment. Jumping the gun aside, I am doing really well with my renewed commitment to getting my body back. I have been to the gym at least 4 times a week for almost 4 weeks. So far I have lost 8 pounds and 2.4% body fat. I have managed to get back up to running intervals for 45 minutes each time and am aiming for 60 by the time I go on vacation at the end of March. My clothes are fitting better. My attitude is getting better. I guess there is something to gain from the pain after all!

  1. I am so jealous. i can say that while I sit here and eat a bag of green M&M's...I really need to get motivated. Good for you. Keep it up! That is just awesome!

  2. AWESOME! those boot camps are killer!

  3. Way to go!! I so miss those classes....I need to get back there so badly (its getting worse and worse here...lets just say I am now most senior engineer in the region!!)

Hopefully someday in the near future we will be able to see each other way too damn early for workouts!!

  4. GOod for you Kam! I can't believe you can run for 45 minutes!!! My best is 10 and I'm usually flippin' out with excitement if I make it that long!

  5. Yeah, I am still in pain over boot camp also. It really hurts doesn't it? Good thing the class is only once a week cuz it takes my body all week to recover. Yeah on the running. If I am not talking to someone while running or listening to my ipod...I can't do it. I get bored!!! So, GOOD JOB!!!

  6. Awesome. I *love* boot class camps! I wish I had one around here. You rock!

  7. Hey! Awesome on the working out...I love it. I feel so much better when I'm at the gym regularly.

As far as our floors...their carpet is ruined. It's the only room in the house with carpet...everywhere else is hardwood or tile. So John will have to tear it out and put down a new floor. Fun!

  8. Go Kammi, Go Kammi, You can do it, Go Kammi!

4 weeks and your still at it, GREAT JOB!!!

I know that you will keep it up and reach all your goals!

    Love and Prayers,

  9. Hello, you have more than just a little to show for all of your efforts at the gym. You have lost 8 pounds. Truly wonderful!

Just think, as the pounds continue to drop away, perhaps your attitude will move in the opposite direction more too. :) I would bet money on it.

  10. You are rockin this diet and exercise thing girlfriend. Keep on truckin it.

  11. Yeah for you! We are weight loss buddies at 8lbs each :)

(P.S. I didn't get an update until just today that you posted this last week...strange).

What you talkin' bout Willis??
