Random Ramblings

I'm hoping on board the random train with Brooke and Liz this week. Sometimes you just have a bunch of tidbits that need to leave your head before you loose it.

****************
Natey's birthday is Saturday. I might cry at the fact that my baby is going to be 2. I am making him a dinosaur birthday cake and, while I might be slightly crafty, I have never made a themed cake. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it is identifiable as a dinosaur, ok?
****************
Liz and I are joining forces to do a craft show in July, the South County Hot Air Balloon Festival. This is not some piddly disappointment like the one I did before. Nope, there will be thousands of people walking through. I am a bit freaked out going from 10 people, all over the age of 80, to thousands. I have been so tired and it has been hard for me to want to sew after I get Natey down at 8pm, but Liz gave me the best idea ever!! She suggested I cut and iron fabric when I'm tired, as this is the easy part of sewing. I think it will help me get a little more organized since I can have tons of things ready to sew and then just knock them out at one time! Wish us luck in our preparation!

My hubbs read my blog for the first time yesterday. Granted I told him to read it since the post was meant for him, but at least he obliged. He couldn't resist voting that we are having a boy. He is so convinced that he only makes Y chromosomes. Let's hope we prove him wrong!!
****************
Speaking of the baby. I only have to wait 19 more days to know what we're having!!!! AAHHHHH!!! I think I might have a little contest and giveaway. Yep....I will start planning that...right after Natey's birthday party!
****************
I will be corralling Natey to help me participate in the Vlogemotions carnival later. I wanted to do it this morning but we all woke up late. He has a new trick that has been cracking us up. You should go check out some of the other vlogs. Nikki and Heidi are always good for a laugh.
****************
I think this post officially has the most freakin links I have ever posted at one time. Heck, maybe more than a normal week's worth, but oh well! Have a great Thursday and come back later to see Natey in action!

A letter to my husband

When we met that night, I wasn't looking for you. Or at least I didn't know I was. You never imagine you will meet your future husband in a casino bar, but there you were, waiting for me. Your sparkling brown eyes and genuine smile drew me in and, little did I know, we'd be inseparable from that day on. Eight days later when you made me dinner on Valentines day, I knew I wasn't letting you get away. I mean, come on.... pasta with homemade pink vodka sauce complete with blanched Roma tomatoes, lobster tails and shrimp????!!! I thought all sauce came from a jar before I saw that. Oh yes, I was keeping you.

We had many adventures during those young and carefree days. Among my favorites was our trip to San Fransisco and the drive back to Vegas in the convertible. Stopping at Half Moon Bay, buying strawberries from the side of the road and driving with the top down and our hoods on. People thought we were crazy, but we didn't care.
We survived our time in Vegas. We laughed, cried, tanned, partied like rock stars, hit a few jackpots, managed to get me graduated, got engaged and high tailed it outta that place.

Somehow you convinced me to move all the way across the country where we started the next chapter in our lives. We got married, got pregnant, bought a house, had little Natey, and got pregnant again...all in the span of 3 1/2 years.Thank you for being the best

Going to the Chapel...

This was the first of our 3 weddings (and hopefully no funerals) summer. Aaron's friend Pat married his gorgeous wife Monica in the botanical gardens on Saturday. It was pretty full when we got there so we sat in the back and off to the side and I added reason 1,462 to the Kameron needs a Nikon D90 (or D60, I'm not super picky) cause....the ability to zoom in!! Monica's dress was gorgeous and I thought she looked so beautiful.
Of course I had to get a new dress for the occasion. I almost bought the same dress as Heather had for a recent wedding, but since another girl showed up in it, I was glad I got something else!! My hubby was even thoughtful enough to set up an appointment for me to get my hair blown out on Saturday so I didn't have to do it myself. I hate blow drying my hair!! It always comes out frizzy and takes me 40 minutes.
The wedding was at 2:30 and the reception started shortly thereafter so it made for a long day for this pregnant girl. I'm pretty sure I gained 5 pounds that day since there was so much food served! Even with an empire waist I was feeling the cinching at the end! It was nice to have a toddler free day since my friend Joelle took him for the night. I got to hang out with our friends and talk which I don't get to do very often (read never).

They had no official MC, just a pre-programmed playlist but they did get many laughs by setting up this cut-out of Obama near the computer and calling him the DJ! Even with no liquid courage I was able to be stupid for pictures. Around 9 pm I started to fade and we had to go home and call AAA anyway since my hubby so smartly locked the keys in his truck before we left for the wedding, so we made our exit. One wedding down, 2 more to go. I will be growing exponentially from now until September when the last wedding is so it should make for some funny comparisons!

Not Me! Monday- wedding weekend edition

I have been really bad at participating in the not me madness. You know you've been slacking when one of your IRL friends says she misses the posts! This one's for you Ariana!! ;o) If you want to play along visit MckMama for more not me action!
***************************************************************************
I did not get the least bit irritated when my hubbs spent the whole morning cleaning out his truck so we could drive it to the wedding, only to lock his keys in the ignition. When I asked him where the spare set was, he did not reply that they were also IN the truck. WTH??

I did not practically beg my hubby to leave his friend's wedding early (if you can call 9 pm when the wedding started at 2:30 pm early) because I was bored. That would be selfish and have nothing to do with the fact that watching people do the chicken dance and YMCA while sober is not all that exciting.

Since Natey had a sleepover with his bestest bud (and his mom, my bestest bud) we would not have woken up at 8am Sunday morning and called it "sleeping in". It is not completely pathetic that we can't even sleep in when we want to since we are used to getting up so dang early every day.

We also spent the morning time we had minus the toddler craziness lying in bed lounging around, not speed cleaning our house while we didn't have to keep one on on the boy and the other on what we were doing. That would be lame and we are certainly not lame!

I certainly did not get puked on by Natey when he woke up from his nap in a frenzy and choked on the snot he created by crying so hard. I am totally aware of the cues he gives before he pukes and it did not happen to me....again. Seriously. Why does he always puke on me?

Red, white and blue favorite things!!!

Mamarazi's doing it again!! I am so excited to do this swap! I missed the last time as I was not quick enough on the draw. The theme of this round of swappy goodness is red, white and blue! I am so sure I can find tons of things I love to fit that bill! Oh I can't wait!

16 weeks

Natey ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~#2
I decided I am going to post side by side pics from my pregnancy with Natey and baby#2. It is a little disheartening that I can already tell a big difference in how much I am showing with this pregnancy! Oh, well. I will just keep on track with my exercise and pray that Aaron stops bringing banana split ice cream home.

Baby Names

I am obsessed with baby names. It was very hard when we had Natey because I wanted to give him a more unique name and my hubby just wasn't having it (Nathan didn't even have a name for 2 days after he was born because we couldn't agree!!!). I've decided with this baby that I will fight a little harder to get what I want.

As you can imagine, growing up a Kameron wasn't always easy. I have to spell my name every time and I often get mistaken for a guy. I even got sent a notice from the government after my 18th birthday that I hadn't registered for the draft!Ha! But even with a bit of teasing as a kid, I love my name now and am glad that I haven't ever met another girl with my exact name.

So, I need your help bloggy friends. Throw your best names at me! Since I won't know until the end of the month what I'm having gimme boy and girl name ideas! Just don't go all Sarah Palin on me 'cause I am so not naming my kid Trig or Track.

Ha, check out what my name would have been if I were Sarah Palin's kid:
Spackle Camshaft Palin

I got a kick outta that, now you go try it! http://personal-space.com/embed/script.php

Wordful Wednesday

He was goofin around so it didn't come out as planned, but he was still darn cute. :o)

I ♥ {birthday} faces

I love birthdays! Since Natey has only had one so far, it wasn't hard to find a picture either. I liked this one and made a couple of edits. I like the way it turned out, but I know some of you pros are probably shuttering (pun intended) at my noviceness with editing software!! Oh well. Hopefully his cuteness will distract you! Head on over to I ♥ faces to see the other birthday goodness!
